TUT TUT CHILD - BROADSIDE BORDELLO

Alright, Alright, Alright! Today I got something alittle different for you. Today I bring you one of the works of Nick Kingsley better known as Tut Tut Child. A Producer/Dj from accross the pond by way of London UK, you can catch alot of his stuff on Monster Cat Records. Now onto the track! Broadside Bordello is an absolute banger like nothing else you have heard recently. The track starts off quietly with little swing piece played on the piano and a muted trumpet, Then all of 25 seconds into the track the Bass drops in and picks up the trumpet line. It's like someone took Parov Stelar's brand of electro swing and jacked the Bass to 11! Combine that groovin bass line with a funky drumline and you have one hell of a Choon! Towards the end of the track Tut Tut changes up the tempo and drops it to about half speed for a little bonus rage session! Seriously if this doesn't fill the dance floor you have a dead party on your hands. And best of all, Tut Tut released this track for free on soundcloud, FCK YES!

PORTER ROBINSON - THE SECONDS (CAPPA REGIME REMIX)

Chicks and sunshine aren't the only things hot out in L.A.  The trio, Cappa Regime, are putting out hot tracks left and right.  Forming in early 2011 these three have already come leaps and bounds in the world of music production.  With both original and remixes under their belts, Jake Kasheta, Shane Sherzai, & Rob "Electric" Enea, are sure to keep the temperature rising in L.A.  Their latest remix is of 'The Seconds' by Porter Robinson.  This remix is a fresh yet dirty take on a otherwise clean track.  I can't wait to see what Cappa Regime has in store for future tracks.

Coming up August 25th is the 51BassCamp Festival put on by 51BASS.  The two putting on 51BassCamp are busier than sin, but they were kind enough to answer a few questions about why it is they do what they do.  Check the interview below then check out 51BASS.

FCK YES! -  Why did you form 51Bass?  What got it started?

51BASS - I (Nicole) had a production company for many years myself, called Dreamy Productions. I threw smaller events in the capital region, Poughkeepsie and NYC. Don had been an acquaintance for about 10 years and an amazing DJ who held many residencies and also has a record company (SinsationSound) in upstate NY for years. We got together and decided with his musical talent and my contacts and experience we could make a bigger/better production company and plan better events for the people.

FY! -  How long have you two been throwing/promoting parties?

51BASS - I ran Dreamy Productions from 2005-2010, 51BASS took over in 2010. Don has been Dj'ing since the late 1990's.

FY! -  Where do you see your crew in 5 years?

51BASS - Continuing with 51BASSCAMP, hopefully we grow bigger and better every year and make it a household name.

FY! -  Why do you do what you do?  What is your greatest reward?

51BASS - We love doing what we do. Its definately not about money for us, if it was we would have quit years ago. When young partygoers say they had a blast at your event, or an old schooler says thanks for bringing me back, its a great feeling. The planning of these events comes 2nd nature to us, our reward is everyone having a good night at one of our events.

FY! -  What is one thing you'd like to see change in ''the scene''?

51BASS - That's not a question we can really answer. We have been around the "scene" for quite some time and have seen many changes. Some good, some bad. Big changes happen every few years its just different generations coming in and evolving it. If I had to mention anything, I wish EDM didnt get so mainstream, however, when we were underground, all we wanted was to be more public. So be careful what you wish for.

NETSKY - THE WHISTLE SONG

Sweet Baby Jebus, Netsky has done it again! With the recent release of his sophomore album (appropriately named "2") The whole album is busting at the seams with bombs, but "The Whistle Song (feat. Dynamite Mc)" is a standout summer anthem. It just evokes images of driving around with the top down and your system up, soaking in the rays. The track starts with a very unassuming synth line that give no hint of what is about to be dropped on your body and soul. Then out of nowhere a full brass blast comes crashing out of the speakers grabbing you by the cockles of you soul and forcing you to skank like your life is on the line. Dynamite MC's vocals are clutch, as they are the final touch that gives off that perfect summer day vibe. Seriously the man kills it, delivering his lines with an every so smooth touch that reminds me of MC Darisson. If you haven't yet copped this album yet what the FCK! are you waiting for?

Having seen these guys do their thing live, I can attest that the level of energy they bring is only matched by the energy pouring out of every track they touch.  Terravita IS bass music.

Mark your calendars: August 25th, 2012 is the date 51BassCamp will be rocking Maple Ski Ridge in Rotterdamn, NY.   This is the second time around for the 51BassCamp festival and it's sure to rock your socks off.  The crew at 51BASS Productions know how to bring it proper when it comes to bad ass events. Just look at the line up if there's any question.   

The event is a one (two) day massive which will include camping, so you can rest your bones after getting groovy to the danker than dank line up.  Speaking of the line up, it's stacked with both regional and national headliners.  ANNNNNND taken from the 51BassCamp Festival Facebook page:

"In addition to the amazing music and performers we are now proud to announce the addition of Dutch Masterson Designs on visuals as well as a one of kind Laser installation for the main stage of the event. NICKY TWIST - TIME TO RAGE

When you read Time to Rage, you're probably thinking "ok yeah sure.. another song with rage in the title".  Well, this title hit the nail square on the head.  Just checking out the preview had me ragin' in my chair. (pro tip:  it's hard impossible to type while ragin')  Time to Rage is the latest from producer/DJ, Nicky Twist.  Hailing out of New Jersey, Twist is no stranger to producing gems, dropping bombs and rocking crowds.  I've seen him spin twice and both times the dance floor was getting TORE up.  The track is currently listed as a featured release on Beatport.... and rightfully so.
